Troubleshooting Activation Errors

Whether you're activating with a serial key or by signing in, activation failures typically show one of the following errors.

Invalid Serial / Invalid License Key

Re-check the spelling, hyphens, and letter case of the key, and watch out for 0 (zero) vs O (the letter O). You can find your serial key under the license list on your dashboard (https://aideaudio.com/dashboard).

Server Connection Failed

Check your internet connection. If you use a firewall, make sure HTTPS traffic to aideaudio.com is permitted.

Activation limit reached

Your registered device count has hit the limit (3 devices by default). On the license screen on your dashboard, click the trash-can icon next to an unused device (the icon has no label; hovering over it shows "Unbind") to remove it, then try activating again. See Device Activation Limit & Moving to a New Computer for the steps.

Sending an Error Report

On some products, a Send error report button may appear when an activation error occurs. Clicking it sends diagnostic information such as the error code, version, OS, and DAW name (you are asked to consent each time). Check the product manual to see whether your product has this feature and what it sends.

Still Not Resolved?

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact [email protected] with your serial key attached, or use the contact form.
